 Libra, the Scales 

Libra, the scales, are the same scales Thoth used to weigh the heart against the Feather of Truth. The written symbol for Libra has been thought by some scholars to represent an altar.⁵⁰ Perhaps the geographical image of the Egyptian Djed, which was often thought of as an altar, and which also is positioned more appropriately than the scales for the seventh sign, predated the scales as a zodiac sign.
